What Shoebox doesn't do
Shoebox has no native phone app, so on a phone you use the website or forward an email. It isn't an HSA provider and doesn't hold your money. It doesn't file taxes or give tax advice. Our comparison of HSA receipt apps has the full list of what it lacks, along with free and cheaper options.
Billing questions
Does Shoebox renew automatically?
Yes. A paid subscription renews every year until you cancel.
How do I cancel?
Use Settings in the app, or email support@shoebox.io. Canceling takes effect at the end of the year you've paid for. Payments aren't refundable.
What happens if I don't subscribe after the trial?
Your account becomes read-only, so you can still view and download your receipts. You won't be charged.
What happens to my receipts if I cancel?
They stay in your account. You can still sign in to view and download them, and subscribing again picks up where you left off.
Can I buy Shoebox through an AI assistant?
If your assistant can use a web browser, it can open the same Stripe checkout page. Have it confirm the price and yearly renewal with you before paying, and use the email you'll sign in with. You'll still create your Shoebox account with that email afterward.
